Seeing the shows isn't actually the bot...Pete,

Seeing the shows isn't actually the bottleneck surprisingly; it's the writing of the reviews. So I imagine I'll see just as many shows in 2013 as I did in 2012 (since I can never seem to see enough), especially given clustering of galleries (a topic I will cover in one of the aforementioned columns at some point), and I agree, the out of the way ones are often the source of something exciting. Where I plan to do some substiutution is foregoing some reviews of the less interesting shows and adding in some columns and book reviews instead. I hope the change won't leave out anything important. And thanks for reading so consistently.DLKCOLLECTIONhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14875914464454488384noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057826380522065501.post-62041878462027711552013-01-04T13:31:49.174-05:002013-01-04T13:31:49.174-05:00Just keeping up with your rate of reviewing was qu...Just keeping up with your rate of reviewing was quite demanding as a reader, so how you kept coming up with them all the time I really don't know! Through most of 2011/12 I checked in just about every day after getting home from work and had eaten - it was a treat, dessert. For anyone far, far away from the NY photo scene it was an unbelievable resource to get to see and hear what was happening over there. A big THANK YOU.

As for your plan to cut back on visits, I'm thinking that the one potential flaw is that in skipping all the shows that may merit only one star, how can you be quite sure you actually won't be missing some three star ones? In London I often find some 'big' shows are often quite disappointing whereas the obscure ones I've gone to with minimal expectations can be a revelation. Then again it's not me who has to trek around five shows a week!

If running this site ever became a grind for you then you'd quit doing it eventually (like some other excellent photo bloggers have, over time), so whatever you choose to do to make it more fun for you then that's gotta be the best, and probably only, way to go.

Best wishes for 2013 to you, and all the other DLK fans

Pete

Pete McGovernhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02677799153563521152noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3057826380522065501.post-11270913343672074022013-01-04T11:40:32.555-05:002013-01-04T11:40:32.555-05:00very much looking forward to this directionvery much looking forward to this directionedmundxwhitehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04792776926800619857noreply@blogger.com
